By accessing or using GradSmart AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms may be updated periodically; continued use constitutes acceptance.

§ 02
Description of Service
GradSmart AI is an AI-powered academic planning tool that provides course recommendations, graduation planning, performance feedback, and professor ratings for students at US and Canadian universities. The Service is intended for educational planning purposes only and does not constitute official academic advising.
§ 03
Access & Subscriptions
New accounts can use scheduling features free forever. AI-powered features (course search, AI advisor, performance feedback, professor ratings) require a 2-month pass billed at $9/month and set to end automatically after 2 months, with no surprise renewals. You will receive a notification before your access expires. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.
§ 04
Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not share your account with others or use the Service to harm, deceive, or defraud others.
§ 05
AI Accuracy Disclaimer
GradSmart AI uses artificial intelligence and live web search to generate academic recommendations. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, outdated information, or inaccuracies. All course selections, graduation plans, and academic decisions should be verified with your official university academic advisor. GradSmart AI is not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

Intellectual Property
All content, design, and software comprising GradSmart AI is the property of its creators and is protected by copyright law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.
§ 07
Privacy & Data
We collect the academic information you provide (courses, grades, university, major) to power the Service. This data is stored securely and is never sold to third parties. AI queries are processed by Groq and are subject to Groq’s privacy policy. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Your data is protected with row-level security, so only you can access it.
§ 08
Prohibited Uses
You may not use GradSmart AI to: (a) submit false or misleading information; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service; (c) use the Service for any commercial purpose without written consent; (d) violate any applicable laws or university policies.
§ 09
Limitation of Liability
GradSmart AI is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to academic decisions made based on AI recommendations.
§ 10
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse of the Service, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.
